ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) - an explanation

Basic Rate ISDN provides means of transmitting two voice channels (each operating at 64 Kbps) and 1 data channel (operating at 16 Kbps) over single pair of twisted copper conductors, with transmission rate of 144 Kbps. Primary Rate ISDN has 23 voice channels and 1 data channel (operating at 64 Kbps), with transmission rate of 1.5 Mbps.
