CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) - an explanation
A simple media access control protocol. All stations listen to the medium. A station wanting to spend may do so if there is no signal on the medium. When two stations transmit simultaneously, both back off and retry after a random time period.
